The problem with the button previews may have to do with an OpenGL setting in SolidWorks. To change the setting, please go to Options -> Performance and uncheck the "Use Software OpenGL" option. All SW documents must be closed in order to change this setting.

I'm able to generate the pdf, but I only get the 3d model in the main view. The select component and select a view boxes are all blank.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to predefine the "Model Render Mode" of a pdf? Right now it's always "solid", but can you define it as "solid outline" or one of the others?

Also instead of editing the data.zip..customizing is easy by editing the files under...

as for the comment bellow

i was able to modify the font, logo, text size etc by changing files that where installed in the data1.zip

i hope this becomes a feature as someone with no computer knowledge would strugle with

the logo in the top left is a image file built into the background.jpg image files

and the text size and font can be modifyed by changing the theme.xml files

I understand this is an in-development product but there could be a whole lot more functionality in it.

1) Layout tool that allows the user to size and drag the views and text boxes.
2) Font control
3) Custom logos and fields

This would be a great addition to our drawing process. We often make-up renderings of our product for customers who have difficulty seeing the finished product. Perhaps you do not have the latest version of DirectX installed or your graphics card does not support it? Regardless, you should be able to click on the "Enable 3D View" to make the model appear.
