New version of the COLLADA Add-In

Monday, March 30 2009

64 bit support is now available with the same functionality as 32 bit.

COLLADA exports now contain both a physical and visual representation of your design. This is important because often the kinematics of a model are usually far less complex, and by creating a simplified configuration of the model you decrease the demand on the physics engine.

Continued support for Google Earth 5.0 and other programs which handle COLLADA transparency differently. Note: To export to Google Earth 5.0, leave the RGB_ZERO option unchecked.

SolidWorks 2009 SP3 freezes every time I attempt to export an assembly, with or without a motion study. After several aborted attempts, I decided to wait several minutes to allow SolidWorks or the exporter to finish what it's supposed to be doing, thinking perhaps I was just being impatient, but at the end a dialogue box popped up with what appears to be an error message (the message was displayed entirely with chinese characters). I'm in the U.S. and my machine's regional settings are set to this. I downloaded the 64-bit version of this exporter and am using Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Is this something my VAR can troubleshoot, or is it something you guys can help me solve directly? Thank you!

Wow, thanks very much!
I have been going between two machines to get my Collada files, and now my workflow will be significantly streamlined.
I asked for this and now I've got it. Again, thanks very much!
