Presentation Studio Video

Monday, October 27 2008

We recently released Presentation Studio, which is a SolidWorks Add-In that allows you to create a Design Brief, Price Sheet, Technical Summary, Feature Review, or Product Specification in minutes.

We have created a video to demonstrate its use.

Enjoy

SW2009 SP4 crashes while making PDF
Dex wrote on Wednesday, May 20 2009
Doesn't work for me...
In pdf I have 3d Model only in main window. "Buttons" with other views (top, left right...) are empty...

Excellent Concept. I have a suggestion that would be really helpful. I understand being able to highlight specific components. Maybe an option to describe the highlighted component.

I am also having the same problem now that I have upgraded to 09 SP2. I only get the the main display.

What about us 64 bit users? It's really kind of silly having to open my SW files in Alibre so I can save them as a 3D PDF.

Nice Tool but since SP 2.0 it dose not work realy good. Only the main view is visible (as described from the others here)

Hey Terry, this are nice features :-)

Best Regards

This is a reallt great tool for presenting new products or customized products to customers. We would suggest the following capabilities:
1. Adjustable sizes of text and graphics areas. (Could be they self adjust to the amount of content.)
2. Capability to insert company name, address, contact information (text) and logo (jpg) in upper left corner.
3. Create more then one page so that seperate multiple models can be sent out in one .pdf file.

Nice product. I used it when I was on SolidWorks 2009 SP 1.0, but when I installed SolidWorks SP 2.0, the only graphics window that appears is the upper central window with the main 3D model. It is functional. Hopefully you can fix?
Oscar wrote on Tuesday, January 20 2009
It looks very nice, but I can only get the main 3D view.

There's no little thumbnails or exploded views. No text may appear too.

Can anybody help me to solve this???

Thanks for this tool, I love it.

But it doesn’t work any more since I installed SP2. It only generates white sheets.

Any ideas?

Keep on innovating,

Tom

When is the 64 bit version going to be available? This looks like a great app but I can’t use it because I am not on a 32 bit machine.

I hope this gets posted I almost failed to keep trying because of the math test. These are really great innovations that are being made by the staff. I commend all of you but would suggest simpying the math.

This is a very swell tool! I had a little trouble with my text getting jumbled during use. I think I narrowed the problem down to either my old typing habit of useing 2 spaces after a period or using () in the text. Since I couldn't get it to repeat after I fixed it, I'm not sure. My advice is to write out your text in another text editor or word processor, get all the words right, and copy/paste into the interface. I love the tool and look forward to its upgrade.

Hello Charles.

Tanks for the tip!
I've Open GL disable... try to manage between OpenGL on and off, and the result was the same, the thumbnails wasn't showed :(
Do you have any other tip?
Tanks again.

Filipe,

I've noticed this kind of problem when I run SolidWorks using software graphics (Open GL). Check your System Options-> Performance window to see if you are using Software GL mode.

Hello!

Great add-in for SolidWorks...But I'm having problems in output pdf.

The window that shows the model, works ok, but, the little thumbnails for the different views not show any image... is a blank thumbnail.

Any solution out there?

Tanks.

I'm running SolidWorks 08 on Windows XP...and when I try to download your software..."Solidworks not detected on your computer" is what I get... I would really like to be able to install as it looks like something real useful for my work...help?

Wow this is just what we need. No more single static screen dumps out of SWx. With very few exceptions our clients have never embraced edrawings.

Need customer customized templates at different paper sizes. Ability tto make the main view lager. Please keep going with this can't wait till it's fully developed.

Thank you
Dan

This is really nice. There, however, appears to be a problem with at one assembly that has the same part repeated. Only one of those parts shows up in presentation studio. Let me know and I can send you the assembly.

Also, I think it would add a great deal to the value of this tool if it was extended to allow inclusion of SW Simulation result plots such as Stress or temperature plots, basically any type of plot available from Simulation studies. I know already some users who have looked at this have brought that up.

Thanks,

In our company, we bought Acrobat 9 Pro Extended for creating 3D PDFs from Solidworks. After seeing this video We regret for paying $970 for 3D pdf creation with Acrobat Professional.

Help?
Charles (SW Labs QA) wrote on Thursday, October 30 2008
Yes, the current install is limited to x32 right now. We're currently working to provide x64 support.
